Sisters ~ Anastasia Lee & Tatiana Marie
Anastasia & Tatiana were named after the late Russian Grand Duchesses Tatiana & Anastasia Romanov. These two sisters, alike in quality of artistry, but unique in tone and depth, bring something new to the Classical Crossover genre, as well as the music industry as a whole. They perform as solo artists, but also as a sister act, (think of "The Haynes Sisters" in White Christmas). The older sister, Anastasia Lee, performs heavier pieces and has a heftier voice, whereas the younger sister, Tatiana Marie, performs more modern work, like ABBA, and she has a lighter, more airy voice. Although they are sisters you wouldn't know it by looking at them or listening to them.
Biography:

"Even when we were little," Anastasia recalls, "we took our music very seriously. I remember listening to dozens of CD's with my sister, picking songs we liked, practicing them for weeks, and then deciding yet again if we would keep them in our repertoire. Our Mom was our biggest supporter in the beginning, but after listening to us sing for some time, eventually our Dad got involved."
"Yes, and there were many songs I liked that Anya would say 'no way' to," Tatiana says. "Anya was nine and I was eight when we decided we would be singers when we grew up. Even then we knew our voices were different from one another, that our voices sounded better in different styles of music."
"We started out at the Harmony Cafe and people liked our voices a lot when we sang solo, but also when we sang together," Anastasia said, "We live in Green Bay, Wisconsin where classical style music/voice isn't the most popular, so most people liked my sister's voice much better, as she has an awesome 'folk-pop' sound."

Tatiana:
"Our Father would approve of our final pieces for our performances, and he was a very tough critique. I remember, for one of our first public performances we performed a duet of "My Heart Will Go On", and Dad had us practicing for months, and I think the reason he was so particular is because of how new we were to music, and even to our own voices."
Anastasia:
"If we would happen to need lyrics when we performed I would print off the lyrics, take construction paper, and make books, full of my own illustrations and cover art, that way the audience would think we were "professionals". People thought that kind of behavior was very peculiar coming from a girl who wasn't yet ten years old."

Tatiana:
"When we were younger our 'fashion-sense' was a bit different, so we would have to compromise quite often. Our Father picked most of our dresses though, so in most instances our clothing was exactly the same as in the photo to the left."
Anastasia:
"Although now I do sing more often than my sister, she still does perform. We never stopped performing together, and now she is setting out in her own direction in the music industry as well. Trust me, her voice sounds much better in ABBA music than mine!"
Anastasia:
"We most definitely have different performing styles, voice styles, etc. I love performing with my sister, in my opinion performing with other people is much more fun than solo. My sister comes with me when I travel to perform as a solo artist as well, and I greatly appreciate the company."
